 MLK Parade - 

 The Polk Clean Energy Alliance participated in Lakeland's Martin Luther King Jr. parade.  We decorated an electric vehicle and urged parade onlookers to "drive the dream."

 Live Green Lakeland Ecofest - 

Join us at our Polk Clean Energy Alliance table at the 9th annual Ecofest presented by the GFWC Junior Woman's Club of Lakeland.  The event features many environmentally conscious vendors, businesses, and nonprofits.  For more information, visit here.

 Legislative Delegation Presentations - Director Katherine Sutherland, Director Judy Haberek, and member Karen Freedman all  spoke to the state legislators from Polk County regarding the need to act on climate issues, including the need to add the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) funds to the next state budget.

Mon Oct 2 - 1 PM to 2 PM, Polk State College Center for Public Safety 

Lakeland Drive Electric Day -  

Hundreds of visitors explored eighteen electric vehicles including trucks, SUVs, and six new models brought by Lakeland Ford/Hyundai, two of which were used for test drives.  A big "Thank You!" to the EV owners, our volunteers, Lakeland Electric, and Lakeland Ford.

Climate Action Now Party - We participated in a Zoom meeting about the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and Governor DeSantis veto of the money Florida could have received to help Floridians, especially in underserved communities. We learned how to take action on the Climate Action Now App to fight against the veto.
